With Penguicon 6.0 behind us, it's time we mix things up a bit and get out of the usual hangout. So, I'm having everyone over to my place for a cookout. The plan is to have this get-together rain or shine. I've got plenty of space inside, so if we get poor weather, we can stay in (except for the griller). Please dress appropriate for both the weather AND mosquitoes. In the spirit of Penguicon disclaimers, prior bathing IS required for all :). You are welcome to bring a guest, but Windows users or non-geeks attend at their own risk. | ||

This session will cover establishing requirements, identifying interfaces, and breaking a problem down into more manageable portions. Essentially, this is how to approach a problem/design from a very high level. Many programmers get this stage wrong and projects takes many times longer to complete/maintain as a result. Depending on timing, this might cover some very basic modeling and OOP compartmentalization. I expect this session to be shorter than the previous ones, so we'll still have time to chat about other things. | ||
